マリオットホテルに、ポイントでの宿泊に対するポイント数のピーク/オフピークの設定がされ、ポイントによる宿泊向けの部屋数を制限できるよう規約が変更されてから3ヶ月ほど経ちました。

それ以前はピーク/オフピーク/スタンダードの設定はだいたい均一でしたが、改悪以降オフピークが設定されている日数はどうなったのでしょうか？
日本にある2つのホテルを例に、集計してみました。

調査対象のホテル
今回調査を行ったのは、日本におけるトップレベルのカテゴリのホテルである
翠嵐 ラグジュアリーコレクションホテル 京都
と、
リッツ・カールトン東京
です。
果たして、どんな結果になったのでしょうか。

まとめ
日本のトップカテゴリホテルを2つ調べた感じだと、各ホテルでバラツキはあるものの、
・オフピークはほとんど設定されていない
・10月の紅葉シーズン、2月の春節シーズン、4月の花見シーズンは半分以上ピーク日が設定されている
ということがわかりました。
日本のホテルに関しては、だいたい同じような傾向が見られると思います。
沖縄に関しても調べようと思ったのですが、沖縄のリッツ・カールトンは空室が調べられない状態でした。
リッツ・カールトン京都についてもポイントによる宿泊ができない日・月があったので、「ホテル側の裁量」により、ポイント宿泊の制限をしている典型例かな、と思います。
なお無料宿泊に関しては、きっちりオフピーク日の分から適用されていました。
少しでもポイントの消費を多くしようという仕様ですね。
オフピーク日の設定は本当に、ホテルの稼働状況によって変わっているようです。
いずれにしても、オフピーク日の設定は少なく、ポイントによるお得な宿泊が少なくなっている状況に変わりはなさそうです・・・。
